
Droplets
Centripetal force and gravity create these forms whose mass stretches and elongates, while surface tension pulls them gently back toward roundness. A crucible of molten glass in the furnace is like a small body of water, and these droplets are gathered out one at a time—they retain aspects of their former liquidity and something of their strangeness. They are records of the forces that pulled them into being, and appear to almost still be moving.
